This is the second album from Belgian alt-pop outfit Sharko and yet from its 15 tracks there is a struggle to find any true stand out moments. The single "I went down", which we are treated to twice in original and reprise form, shows the most memorable qualities. "Bootleg of AC/DC" also offers some strength with it's list format vocal line.
David Bartholome's raspy tones are occasionally in danger of wandering in to a Stars In Their Eyes appearance as Sting, but the suitably imaginative subject matter steers away from any further ropey references.
For musos everywhere there is a vast array of instruments, plinky-plonky noises, and croaky synths intermingled with the lo-fi production. Subtly is the moniker adopted through out, but with a rather flat feeling despite numerous listens, the line between subtle genius and dull is dangerously thin.
