It's a bit difficult to review an EP when the record company only send you one track from it, but when it's one track that wears down the play button they may be forgiven. What can be said about The Futureheads that has not already been said this past year? They go from strength to strength and seemingly they just don't stop. It's amazing that they actually found time to record this song at all given their nightly gigging schedule but thankfully there must have been a studio on the tour bus. Area has been (we'll take their word for it) a huge live favourite and is the first new track to be released following their marvellous debut album. With their customary multi-layered interplaying backing vocals Area struts around your head handing out catchy candy left, right and centre. Trying not to find yourself singing the ascending "Duh du duh da duh du" is harder than resisting chewing a fruit pastille.
