The biog of London based Dripfeed makes numerous references to Coldplay and although the music itself has a distinct whiff of the band it stands up enough by itself to dispense with such lazy comparisons. Comparisons which no doubt stem from the delay effect used widely throughout opener "Lay Down / Fall Apart". But there is more Ben & Jason about the moody drifting sound on offer. As pleasant on the ear as it is "Lay Down / Fall Apart" rarely prods it's listener awake. More can be said of "By Now" with its Sleeper (yes them!) guitar riff, which takes the angst up a beat and adds some nice Wedding Present guitar interference in the play out. Instrumental closer "Arch Angel..." is wasted as an instrumental and purely fills space proficiently on the track listing.

Dripfeed have a sound which if developed will be potentially big enough to have the indie hoards clambering for more. A stronger song is needed for now to make better use of an impressive sound.
