What's it like? Well for starters, it's nice to hear something new to the ears, Tarentum are almost like, how can I put it... sampled drum and bass but with a tinge of pop music in it. The drum beats are unique and really catch your attention. Their selective choice of samples make you at times feel like you are back at home playing Super Mario Bros.

Who will like it? Obviously drum and bass lovers, and most likely anyone who likes the more poppy Aphex Twin (e.g. Maximum Electronica). This is really the kind of music you would have on in the background on a movie or something to that effect. Not really the kind of music you would just sit and listen to.

Personal view Tarentum show real originality with this 6 track EP. Their music is very promising and is great for all those who like (I hate to say) "alternative dance". They use a huge range of samples from your run of the mill digitalised electronic sounds right through to the ear clenching violin solos which in my opinion was the highlight of the whole album (track 1).

My only criticisms would be that the EP tailors more to the pop side of things and can get a little repetitive which spoils it a bit in places. Apart from that, very promising stuff, just a bit poppy for me.
