The announcement for Leeds Festival 2006 will be made at 7.30pm on Monday 3rd April with tickets expected to go on sale immediately afterwards.

This year festival organisers Mean Fiddler are hoping to make available 65,000 tickets per day, up almost 10,000 on the 2005 capacity.

Muse, Pearl Jam and Franz Ferdinand are the rumoured headliners amongst the internet forums, with Leeds' Kaiser Chiefs also expected to make an appearance high up the running order. Tool have announced their appearance via their website, whilst a re-appearance at the festival by The Strokes has also been the subject of recent rumours.

Last month, Leeds Festival was awarded with "Best Event" at the NME Awards 2006.
