Lady Luck

By Broadzilla

Biogs don't always play fair, a too well written biog can actually have an adverse effect - rather than promoting a band's worth it actually leaves you questioning whether your editor sent you the right one and didn't mix them up in the post. Try naming a name that Broadzilla don't drop in their bio and you will be struggling. It can only be assumed that live they are a far more interesting prospect than on record as otherwise it would be difficult to understand why they have landed support slots with Limp Wristlet, L7, The Datsuns, The Goo Goo Dolls and The White Stripes to name but a few. Although the clue may be in always being the bridesmaid and never the bride.

Looking like a sketch from the end of Smack The pony, dressed in rather unflattering red latex and 4 gallons of eye make-up Broadzilla apparently "rip-roar through your town leaving it an utterly obliterated, annihilated, devastated and smouldering ruin" ooh f'kin hell pack your bags now and barricade the Boots make-up counter.

I didn't think it was possible to be more boring than those other Yankee rock chicks The Donnas but Broadzilla manage it triumphantly. Twelve gloriously similar tracks that regurgitate edge frayed rock riffs faster than 10 pints of snake bite and black from a student. The novelty is clearly in the image as without an ounce of humour in the music it's all pretty stale melodies, muddy guitar and moronic fret wibbling.

I have to admit, I rather liked this CD myself. But then I am easily pleased...
