La Lumiere

This 4 track EP released on Loog Records centres around "We can never say goodbye" which is taken from the band's recent album "Statues". The track has a real haunting feel to the verses, with the vocal melody line backed by some eerie music. The chorus, however is incredibly catchy and you will find it very hard to not be singing it over and over in your head after the first listen.

The other three tracks display more of the band's experimental and progressive influences. The second track "The Box" is a sound-scape instrumental, which leads nicely into the more aggressive sounds of third track "I Call You". I felt that this track lacked something. The vocals didn't really sit well in the mix and I didn't think it really lived up to the high standards of their recent album.

The fourth track "Mirror" again shows off their progressive influences and is yet another eerie and mysterious instrumental. It could quite easily be heard on a soundtrack to a horror film. I'm not sure if it is of sufficient quality for a release such as this, but nevertheless it still shows a different side to the band.
