By The Dirty Soul
Indeed it is... perfection that is, but is the soul in question actually The Dirty Soul themselves? Not perfect but steady and steadfast, standing as they are on a blues and swaggering pub-rock foundation. There is enough about The Dirty Soul's sound to carry them beyond the average but the 2 songs on offer provide far less in invention than they do in muscle. The riffs are ground out but without much excitement or rapid fire making it all a little stodgy at times. Lyrically meaningless but not pointless the band do at least find that Bobby Gillespie style knack of co-existing comfortably with rock clichés. With such a promising dirty driving sound it is easy to imagine the impact being more of a live one, no bad thing there and translating that to record will simply come with time.
