Futuresound 2006 organisers have today announced the thirty bands that will take part in the annual event that will eventually see six bands selected to appear at this year’s Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival.

Each of the chosen bands will play at one of ten showcase gigs at Leeds’ Cockpit venue with music industry judges and an audience vote selecting the top six. The overall winner will receive recording time and musical equipment.

Yet again, organisers say that the quality of bands in the area has been exceptionally high which has made the process of settling on just thirty at this stage very difficult!

The bands and solo musicians are: Mr Death, Above Them, Daigoro, Spitfire Charlie, Fran Rodgers, The Ending Of, Samsa, The Hair, Fawn, White Boys For Gay Jesus, Shut Your Eyes And You'll Burst Into Flames, Harmacy, Sky Larkin, Jack Afro, Wild Beasts, Piskie Sits, Napoleon IIIrd, The Bazaars, Pointe Blank, The Playmates, The Smokestacks, Dead Disco, White Light Parade, The Stations, Catch-It Kebabs, Breaking The Illusion, Baseburner, Vessels, Polar, and Joff Whitten.

The gigs take place in June and July.
