The other day, something completely unexpected and crazy happened to me. One minute I was browsing through MySpace, checking out some new bands that I had read about it. The next minute, I have fallen in love. Head over heels, crazy, can't get enough, butterflies in the stomach, love. Some liken this feeling to seeing poetry in an empty coke can...
This was my reaction after hearing the enchanting Made Up Love Song #43 for the first time. The band is Guillemots, a 4 piece hailing from Brazil, Scotland... who I have been hearing whisperings about for some time. And am I glad I decided to check them out.
Made Up Love Song #43 encapsulates that feeling of being so in love even burnt out caravans are amazing. Beginning simply, relying on the raw emotion of Fyfe's voice, it builds up and becomes a fanfare of instruments, vocals, portraying that moment when you can no longer keep it all in and have to shout how you feel from the rooftops! I challenge anyone not to feel butterflies as this fanfare climaxes with the killer line "I can't believe you care!"
It's an over the top, unapologetic, declaration of love and happiness, captured in the most magical and enchanting song I have heard in a long time. "The best things come from nowhere", so Guillemots sing, and how true. Do not miss this single!!
