By Ian Love
New York based singer-songwriter Ian Love has created a pleasant debut album, but it doesn't quite hit the mark. The main reason is that it doesn't offer anything different to that released by similar artists.
The acoustic influenced album is very folkie with a mix of up-tempo songs and ballads. Ian Love's vocal style can be best described as a half-hearted strain on the vocal chords that, although distinctive, it can be tiresome.
There are a couple of gems on the album such as 'The Only Night' and 'Butterfly'. But the lack of vocal variation on the other songs makes you feel that you've heard the track earlier in the album.
