Leeds-based solo artist Corinne Bailey Rae is up against Mary J Blige and James Blunt as the 49th Grammy Award nominations were revealed today.

Recognised amongst a number of UK bands and musicians, including Coldplay, Keane and Yorkshire‘s Arctic Monkeys, Corinne has been nominated for three awards.

Her 2006 single “Put Your Records On“ has been nominated as the “Record Of The Year”, with Corinne in line for the songwriters award (“Song Of The Year”) for the same song.

In a ceremony looking to recognise new music talent from pop, rock, r&b and country music, the UK's newest soul sensation has also received a nominated for Best New Artist.

The Grammy Awards will be held on February 11th in Los Angeles.
