By Mr Hudson And The Library
I've been hooked on dear Mr Hudson ever since Zane Lowe played the fantastically addictive 'Bread and Roses'. However, this single far surpasses that first slice of Library action. The tastefully distorted 'Why must I always play the clown?' refrain resounds in the listener's head for hours afterwards and with music of this high quality, one doesn't tend to mind all that much.
The outfit are bringing a bit of brass to the indie proceedings and it adds so much to the single as well as providing the required break from the normal run-of-the-mill artists. Reggae overtones should be embraced too Joy Joseph chills it all out with her tender steel pans. The instrumental track proves only as a testament to the sheer musicianship of the outfit.
A remix is always... interesting and that is certainly the case here. Vocals a bit more distorted, but the moral of the story here that nothing needs to be done when the shit's this good.
