By As Silence Falls
Seriously, what's in the water in Wales? As Silence Falls are the latest in a long, long line of Welsh bands blazing a trail across metal, heading straight for super-stardom. Once upon a time, bands from the Valleys were boring, mundane indie shite about as dangerous as changing your socks, but then something happened. Lostprophets, Funeral for a friend, Bullet For My Valentine, and more recently The Blackout and Kids in Glass Houses have been turning the tides for Welsh music to something a little more sinister. As Silence Falls fit somewhere in this category, their Killswitch meets Coheed metal stylings are a welcome addition to the community, tracks such as "There's no axe in accident" proving that metal riffs and emo chorus' don't half work well together... er... again. They certainly aren't doing anything new, but what they are doing they are doing extremely well. I guarantee after one or two spins, you'll be singing along and moshing to the beat-downs like they've been around years. Isn't that what it's all about?
