Stealbackyourlife are a Brighton 3 piece, playing jarring, often jazzy math-rock, heavily influenced by At The Drive-In and Biffy Clyro among many others. Theirs is a sound buzzing with activity and life, creating a much bigger wall of sound than three men should rightly be able to. To pick standout tracks and favourites from this collection would be a crime, since this début EP positively demands listening to in its entirety, which is far from a negative point. Driving bass lines carve a winding path on which a lone guitar stomps its authority on everything in its way, battering anything and everything around it whilst drums relentlessly drive everything forward, albeit taking slight detours from time to time. The beauty of this record however comes in its quieter moments. Jazzy interludes interrupt the madness, soaring chorus lines that are all too brief serve stark contrasts to the noise, reminding everyone beauty is often much more harrowing than brutality.
