Live at Joseph's Well on Thursday, 12th October 2000
The self-professed "punk rock gods" Liquidhead returned to Joseph's Well on Thursday with a forty-five minute set consisting of old and new material. They kicked off the set with a quick plug for the new album and Humanoid. The band has been together for five years and it showed in their professionalism. Problems with the guitars in the first song and later in the set (get some decent strings guys) did not seem to affect their enthusiasm or their timing. New songs from the new album went down well with the ground and we were left in no doubt that the album is "out now". The band stormed through "forty going on eighteen" with an amazing amount of energy followed quickly with Intense. A surprisingly respectable cover of Blur's Song 2 supported by Slipknot style masks left the crowd in no doubt of their talent. (Don't believe them when they say they can't play!) The band have been working hard after taking time out and making the album and it showed. It is easy to believe that they managed to blag their way onto supporting Terrovision in 1995. Flying guitar strings aside it was an entertaining gig that the band felt went quite well. One quote from Ian: "Sorry about the baby joke". Not quite sure what he meant!!!
