By The Moths
Are The Moths the best band of the moment? I think they may well be. I'm all for fair journalism, written by authors who expose the limitations of even the best single; but The Moths have no faults.
I've been all but stalking them over the past month; it's been obsessive. Every song they put out is perfect. This, their debut, is ridiculously good. Spiky, intellectual, electro dance punk-pop set to a tee. This sounds like a band who are experienced, not one that have just got running, it is truly immense.
It's a triple A-side, because it had to be. Three equally amazing tracks: each equally catchy, each equally prominent, each equally astounding. It leaves you drooling for more, and if their demos are anything to go by, we have some monster of an album on its way.
This is what music is about.
They descend on the lights of the Faversham later this month for NastyFest with the likes of I Was A Club Scout and Mother Vulpine joining them on the billing. Set to make your "heart flutter". The next big thing, if the public have any sense.
