Originally released in 2006, the Montreal born Tiga's debut album 'Sexor' came in for much acclaim. This re-issue comes with the added bonus of a second disc bursting with remixes, previously un-released material and two videos.
The CD opens with a glorious pop number in Joakim's edit of the DFA remix of '(Far From) Home', though beyond the initial delight you're hard pushed to find anything listenable, never mind noteworthy.
In the context of a drunken dancefloor the Sexor bonus disc might serve its purpose, but scratch beneath the surface and you're left with a barrage of clichéd 80's influenced 21st century electronic dance, littered with camp moments, cheese-ridden simplicity and cringe worthy lyrics (and Scissor Sisters front-man Jake Shears even makes a contribution).
In the end, this collector's edition seems like nothing more than another shallow money making exercise. Dreadful.
