I suspect in time a lot of people will come to hate The Wombats. Beneath this tune lurks a true evil.

I'm sure that a lot of us have mused in our time upon the fact that, in 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', we have some of indie's most chillingly doomed lyrics set to some of its most relentlessly danceable beats. It's an irony that these chirpy Liverpudlian have chosen as the inspiration for their latest offering as they return to the scene of their first single, the local disco. This cut goes further than the clever observations of an indie club-goer, though; it's destined to soundtrack many a lively dancefloor moment itself.
Once again it's not hard to imagine these lads being found in the busier parts of the dancefloor. The tunes, and this one is no exception, are big on the kind of catchy repetitious energy and jittery jangly hooks that fill floors at club nights up and down the land. The stuttering energy never seems forced and it always feels like it's going somewhere. Given that they don't seem to have come up with a bad tune yet - and B-side 'Derail and Crash' is no exception either - one can only imagine that their energy and enjoyment permeates live sets as much as it does recorded output. Basically, get hold of this tune and keep an eye out for the band.
