By Hot Club De Paris
A little late with this one, a one off Christmas single from Liverpool trio Hot Club De Paris, a band name I always loved but which the music has never lived up to. This is no exception, I'm afraid, an insipid tale of a troubled relationship, but guess what, 'when you took my hand it felt like Christmas'. See what they did there?
B-side of the 300 7 inchers made is an acoustic cover of the Clash's 'Straight to Hell' which fares better.
The band have been in Chicago working on the second album and doubtless recorded this in October or something as a bit of fun (at least it was probably cold in Chicago!). The Christmas single is a lovely English tradition but with this on offer I'd rather have another pair of socks.
