By Tokyo Police Club
Almost a year has passed since Tokyo Police Club's 'A Lesson In Crime' EP. The four-piece from Canada have appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and are definite crowd pleasers. When the drummer fell in at a gig last year, the members of support bands Cold War Kids and Delta Spirit joined the remaining three onstage for a never-before-never-again-seen eleven piece Tokyo Police Club show! With a debut full length album hitting the shelves at the start of May, we get a cheeky preview of what to expect with single, 'Tessellate'.
Bringing together everything from their live shows, 'Tessellate' captures the compelling backbeats, the simple-yet-captivating guitars and keyboards, and lyrics that will have you singing along within seconds. "We'll show them what the backs of our hands are for" is one of my favourite lines from the track, but I think the way they Dave Monk sings them is more intriguing than the letters and words themselves. The single also comes on a 7" with a remix from up-and-comers Los Campesinos! That's enough to purchase alone!
The album 'Elephant Shell' is out here on 5th May.
