Sawsound - with influences spanning a spectrum from Neil Young to Tool, this Leeds based four piece have built a repertoire of riff and groove based progressive music, aided by the presence of Tori Campbell on violin and Mesa Boogie driven acoustic guitar from Simon Whitton. The Drum and Bass and metal background of drummer Johnny Whitton, melded the funky and ambient bass playing of Adam Greenhead give the music a drive that will make the hairs on your neck go "whaaaat!" An authentic and art-devoted British take on songwriting will give you a night off from copy-cat, manufactured sing-alongs.
New Album out 27th November!! See www.sawsound.co.uk
Tunji - These guys have honed their breed of instrumental alternative rock after a very charismatic beginning for what is clearly going to be a very fruitful career. Check them out at www.myspace.com/tunjibuzzing
Zeno - This Leeds based three piece take influence from the big sounds of bands such as Muse. Their incorporation of electronics and sick guitar riffs are enough to get you grooving, but just as you suspected; the incendiary vocals will melt your face. Check out www.zenoband.com
With all that said and all hype aside, come down to Carpe to see some real original unsigned acts who love what they do, and want nothing more than to share it with you. To request tunes on the playlist (rock - Dubstep) just search for the Sawsound fan page on Facebook.
FREE ENTRY AND CHEAP DRINKS!
