Shimmer Trap Promotions presents..
The Mexanines see in the summer with a massive headline show at The Cockpit featuring support from the amazing Dirty Green Vinyl, The Covelles and Test Transmission.
Fresh from support slots with The Pigeon Detectives and Scars on 45, the three-piece monster that is The Mexanines rolls into The Cockpit for a stunning headline show in July. Perfecting their trade up and down the country over the last few years at venues including Reading & Leeds, O2 Academies and Bingley Music Festival, the Halifax band have built up an ardent Leeds folowing with vicarious tunes such as 'A Love Obscene', 'Katie Callous' and 'Hold Tight'. A show that is definitely not to be missed.

Dirty Green Vinyl
Following the sold-out success of their debut EP 'Here's Your Money, Where's Our Kid?', Dirty Green VInyl bring their refined indie-punk sound to The Cockpit after various festival shows across the country. With their intricate glissading guitars and lyrical stylings, Dirty Green Vinyl are ones to watch on the local scene
Flowing melodies fuse with effervescent vocal lines with a tinge of energetic, dynamic indie-rock as The Covelles come to The Cockpit with a sound refined at headline shows at venues such as Manchester Academy.
'The Covelles make an impressively accomplished scuzzy but tight rock n roll racket. Tonight, in the presence of a decent crowd, the band race through a short set of spiky, energetic indie rock that often suggests a less conceited, less polite, and less image-obsessed Kooks, with the occasional hint of the cavalier erraticness of The Libertines.' - Leeds Music Scene.
Test Transmission are a 4-piece post-punk/alt.rock band hailing from Leeds and Harrogate. Harsh male vocals intermix together with melodic female vocals on top of dark, ambient, effect-driven guitars, heavy undertones and robust, powerful drum strokes.
