Winner of the 2006 Modern Drummer "Up and Coming" poll, Aaron Spears broke onto the USA national scene with the Washington, D.C. based jazz/R&B/rock group known as the Gideon Band (GB). Famous for his groovy R&B style of drumming leading him to performances with Alicia Keys and the American Idol tour, Aaron joined the Funk Rock Orchestra, belonging to internationally acclaimed singer, Usher. Aaron has since performed around the world, recorded on the multi-platinum selling album 'Confessions', and given a special performance with Usher and James Brown during the Grammy Awards. Spears' main influences include Dennis Chambers, Papa Jo Jones, Stewart Copeland, Jeff Davis, Gerald Heyward, and Steve Smith.
