Live at Hyde Park Book Club on Friday, 21st April 2017

The supplied line up for this gig is Engine, Maggie 8.

After an incredible sell out first event in March, Sifaka Sessions returns for the April edition!!! Bringing you two of our favourite Leeds bands: ENGINE and Maggie8, with yours truly jamming out some tunes as well!

------------- The Night -------------

We've been digging up the best bands from across the North and beyond, and we want to bring them together, every month, in a night of amazing, eclectic music right in the heart of Hyde Park. The music we've chosen reflects the range of music we love as a band, so there will be rock, blues, soul, African music and more!

------------- The Venue -------------

Since starting in 2016, Hyde Park Book Club has quickly established itself as one of he most eclectic cafés / bars in Leeds. Where else can you attend a midweek techno supper club, spoken word event, book launch and rock night in the same week?

------------- The Tickets -------------

The 'Sifaka Sessions' are £5 and are free for refugees and asylum seekers.

Tickets can be purchased online:

Or on the door.

This money is to cover all the expenses of the night and to pay all the bands and artists well.

------------- The Line Up -------------

Sifaka is a 7-piece band from Leeds, setting stages alight with their fusion of Soul, Rock and African Blues. Growing up with an obsession for the 60s and the music of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, Sifaka's sound unleashes powerful riffs, seething solos and soaring vocals. Now, in 2017, they believe the spirit and sound of the blues is to be found in the continent it first came from - Africa. Fusing elements of African blues with their beloved rock music, Sifaka has developed their own unique sound, taking them to the frontier of the blues!

Listen to their most recent single here:

Leeds quartet ENGINE are a force to be reckoned with. Combining an unashamedly baggy groove with woozily modern psychedelicisms, they're simultaneously a welcome throwback and utterly in tune with the zeitgeist: a familiar formula refined to the point of perfection. Classic guitar-based dance music with electronic and organic pulses in perfect harmony.

There are few bands that create their own genre but Maggie8 have done exactly that. The music they make incorporates western folk and indie styles with Hindi Raags and elements of Bollywood. A strange mix at first glance but what is stranger, is just how well it works.

We will also have Megan InnerMuse Elixir providing pay as you feel massages!

And Melt Trip will be projecting mind-blowing psychedelic visuals!
