How far beyond expectation is the word 'lush' when describing Scottish traditional music? Live Review: Twin Atlantic + Fighting With Wire
Twin Atlantic seem to have gone rather low profile recently. Despite touring with big names like Biffy Clyro, Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance earlier in their career, the band have never really lived up to the expectation created with the release of the excellent Vivarium mini album in 2009, so it's now, with debut full-length Free fresh in the shops, that the Scottish alternative rock tykes need to up their game some.

After being 'meeted and greeted' at The Cockpit's entrance by a surprisingly long queue of angst-ridden looking, 'scene kids', I thought I'd been mistaken; I came tonight with the impression that Detroit Social Club were a typical, indie, lad-rock outfit and 'the saviours of British guitar music' - well, at least that's what the Internet told me.

Tonight definitely feels like a choose-your-own-headliner affair.
