The debut single from Kaiser Chiefs is quintessentially British guitar pop. And loveably so. Keys - in whatever form - are prominent from the off, introduced via the almost single fingered tinkering of the intro, and at around 3 minutes in there's an "A Day In The Life" like moment, where all parties, including, paradoxically, quietly-screamed vocals, get to build up the sound before heading into a chorus repeat and then fade.

The Synthpop/Electronic duo Shy Child, who released their first album back in 2002, have released their fourth album 'Liquid Love.' It's an album full of their usual catchy pop tunes, but seems to have a little more maturity than some of their earlier work, such as 'Drop the Phone.' 'Disconnected' has a memorable tune and is reminiscent of MGMT's music, with falsetto voices and the repetitiveness of the chorus, "I'm disconnected from the source that won't take it out, out / travels backwards in your mouth / let me get it out, out." There is a discomfort in listening to the chorus and perhaps this reflects the discomfort of being disconnected, but nonetheless it should be listened to in moderation.
