CD Review: A Day Left - Everything Grows Light
Oli Renton and Lee Malcolm were born to do the Leeds/Reading Festival. Not in the slightly geeky tents where I go, but out there on the main stage in the afternoon sun with guitar screaming and the kids crowd surfing like there was no concussion.

Live Review: Bright Eyes
Referring to the city in which you are playing as 'a hole in the middle of nowhere' is an interesting way of striking up a rapport with your audience but Conor Oberst (aka Bright Eyes) just about gets away with it through a mixture of boyish enthusiasm and insouciant arrogance that characterizes much of this eagerly awaited show, the scale of which is testament to the position Oberst now holds in the indie rock firmament.

Live Review: Yashin + The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus + Lyu
It's a testament to how hotly anticipated tonight's show is that despite the fact it's cold, raining and blowing a gale outside the Cockpit on this truly miserable Thursday evening, there are fans outside the doors who have queued for hours for a place at the front of the venue; it is clear that expectations for tonight's show are sky high, which leaves Birmingham quartet Lyu the unenviable job of warming up this most partisan of crowds.
