It's difficult to make out Dot through the rather er, smoky atmosphere in the Dance Tent this afternoon.

Live Review: Pendulum
At the same time Pendulum are pulling a mammoth crowd to the NME tent (and around said tent, and around the nearby ferris wheel, and around the barricades that have suddenly appeared outside of said tent and around said ferris wheel) Ash, Arcade Fire and Bad Religion are headlining Leeds' other stages.

Saturday arrived and we all hoped the mud had dried out. It hadn't. If anything it had gotten worse overnight.

Live Review: The Twilight Singers
Gregg Dulli and his new line up perform to a packed out Carling Tent and you can only feel sorry for those misguided souls who would rather watch Franz Ferdinand than be here.

CD Review: Unkle - Never Never Land
Unkle's previous album, the musical elite showcase, known as Psyence Fiction was the brainchild of dance guru James Lavelle and the mighty DJ Shadow.

Live Review: CocknBullKid
I'll admit to not having heard CocknBullKid on record but based on their performance in the Festival Republic tent I would imagine it's the kind of soulful pop which is a pleasure on the ears, ideal for a bit of background when you have friends over and perhaps, after a few drinks, may even have a dance around the living room rug.

Live Review: Homecut Directive + Superelectric + Base 4
Tonight features the "other bands" taking part in this year's FutureSound 2000 competition. By "other bands" I am of course referring to the fact that so far we have see all-guitar, mainly indie/punk/rock bands, yet tonight we see what else is on offer around the Leeds live scene.

CD Review: Enter Shikari - Sorry You're Not a Winner
Metal guitars blended with euphoric dance lines? Surely this must be some sort of mistake, or possibly a mix from the Belgian brothers: 2 Many DJs possibly?

Live Review: The Young Knives + Runaround Kids + Blacklisters
I arrived at the press gate at 2pm and collected my wristband, I pitched my tent in Yellow Bubble (with the real people, no guest camping for me) and then started to walk around the campsites looking at the various rides that were set to make me sick later that night.

Live Review: Arctic Monkeys + Prodigy + Them Crooked Vultures + Chuck Ragan + Delphic + Dinosaur Pile-up
With nothing on Thursday billing to grab you by the throat and force you to pay attention, the masses leisurely set about acclimatising themselves with the compact and well laid out site, and then embark on the evening's perpetual hunt - the unsuccessful parched souls stalking the happily lubricated few in the hope that they will lead them to the single open bar on site.

Live Review: Miike Snow
Anyone familiar with Miike Snow's debut self titled album, released in 2009 would be popping along to Stylus to see a chilled, indie-dance band with hooks as good as MGMT and a pounding drum machine worthy of New Order.

Live Review: The Young Knives + So So Modern + The Killers + Seasick Steve + The Mystery Jets + British Sea Power
British Sea Power start the final day and drive away any remnants of the morning's deluge. Unfortunately the wind, or the Main Stage's volume limiter, conspire to also wash away the sound, so only the manic flag waving at the front gives hint to how good they are.

CD Review: Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
There's that little bit of elitist in me that would just love to shoot this album down right from the off, to rip into it with merciless vigour and launch a tirade about how why it's because of bands like the Arctic Monkeys that music isn't like it used to be.

Three days, four nights (five, even, if you're hardcore, or none if you're of the wired, Lucozade Tablet-guzzling insomniac variety), thousands of lovely boys attentive to the lure of (so) many an alluring female, two hundred bands, two million pints of Carling and two famed yellow wellies; it's all about numbers.

Live Review: Jamie Lidell + The Sunshine Underground + José González + This Et Al + James Lavelle + The Young Knives + New Young Pony Club + Stephen Fretwell + King Creosote + The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
Jamie Lidell is an absolute nutter. Appearing as a diamond geezer dressed in silken bathrobe with gold rope strung loosely, provocatively, around his torso, he headbangs and face-pulls like a schizo on strychnine whilst a masked figure with white wires and whiskers coming out its face lurks about setting up cameras and sending disturbingly delayed footage to the screen at the back before propping up a mannequin's dismembered hand (which is, nicely, impaled on a metal pole, just in case you weren't freaked enough) in front of Lidell's mad-scientist decks; then leaves it to turn, slowly, in a revolving, demented circle.
