Where to start with Frightened Rabbit? Their wonderfully lo-fi 2006 debut 'Sing The Greys,' despite being heard by few, ranks as one of the most impressive debuts of the decade, and their glorious sophomore record, 'The Midnight Organ Fight' is a stunning and fantastically emotional album, proving the band's worth as one of the best bands to come out of Scotland in recent times.

In the way Bon Iver's debut album is reaped in the romanticism attached to the isolated log cabin, Leeds folk artist Benjamin Wetherill can claim a similar sense of idealistic beauty in the form of using a derelict 19th century palace on the outskirts of Budapest to record his long-awaited debut album.

CD Review: Suicide Silence - The Black Crown
With more aggression than a Rottweiler on steroids, Suicide Silence haven't toned down their deathcore bludgeon in their time away from the fray; however, what they have done is fine-tuned it, giving it more qualities than just the straight-up brutality which was seen on their debut album, 'The Cleansing.' Being truthful, this is a release which is likely to alienate some of their older fans; Suicide Silence are an almost entirely different sounding band from the one which emerged four or five years ago.

CD Review: The Cribs - Another Number / Baby Don't Sweat
The A-side is "Another Number", a gloriously lackadaisical amble down lo-fi lane. This one just prods and teases and you think that any minute it will kick off, guitars a blazing, yet after a couple of minutes it just finishes.

The Bluetones are an English guitar band, formed in Hounslow in 1994, featuring Mark Morriss (vocals, keyboards & occasional guitar), Adam Devlin (guitars), Scott Morriss (bass guitar & backing vocals), and Eds Chesters (drums - the man who has both plural forename and surname!) CD Review: Underoath - Define the Great Line
It's hard to know where some bands' safety zones start and end. The balance between not pushing hard enough and regurgitating the same old tired lines versus trying too many different things and attempting one giant leap for musickind, is a hard one to define.

It's safe to say this record has been a long time coming. The Welsh emo/nu-matel/poprock band's third album 'Liberation Transmission' (roundly accepted as a thorough disappointment, given the quality of 2004's 'Start Something') was released back in 2006, and frontman Ian Watkins has been announcing to any audience who'd listen at every gig since, that their 4th record would be out in the coming year.
