Live Review: Dirty Pretty Things + Humanzi + Louie
There's the possibility of a successful band here, but it's unlikely to be named Louie. I mean, it could form from Louie, or component members thereof, but for now all we see before us is a band going through the stage of self-finding, identification and formation.

Live Review: Muse + Arctic Monkeys + Feeder + Dirty Pretty Things + The Futureheads + The Cribs + Shut Your Eyes And You'll Burst Into Flames
As another long night bleeds into another bright, sunny day, bleary eyed tent dwellers emerge from their probably now a little bit on the stale side canvas abodes to see out the last day of the festival.

CD Review: 10,000 Things - Titanium
10,000 Things are the band you wanted to be in when you were a kid. The Jim'll Fix It chance to play dirty sleazy riffs and wail boisterous, filthy lyrics until your lungs bleed.

Live Review: The Holloways + Last Gang + Micky P Kerr + The Pigeon Detectives + Jack Afro + Piskie Sits + Dirty Electric
In the cavernous grime of the Well, it is forever night time. Forever a luminous green-tinged, stale tobacco-clad dark age.

CD Review: Five O'Clock Heroes - Speak Your Language
'Speak Your Language' by Five O'Clock Heroes kicks off in the best possible form with the ear-Prozac of 'Judas.' This song will make you instantly fall in love with frontman's Antony Ellis' addictively angular voice and the band's talent for mixing awkward indie with just the right amount of pop, to create something that's original, but accessible.

CD Review: The Room - Untitled
Hailing from the midlands (there's a way to start a review with a sense of foreboding) The Room tie down three decent Indie rock offerings.

CD Review: Seven Hours - Make It Up
Sounding like coffee table jazz funk, but with a rougher Tom Waits on vocals, Seven Hours are a bit of a mixed bunch.

Live Review: Brutal Tinkerbell + Erin's Third Incident + Future Sons of Rome
If ever there was a lesson for new bands to learn then Future Sons Of Rome are it. 1) Your singer should never wear sunglasses unless you are playing on the main stage of a festival or have sold out a well lit arena.

CD Review: Little Man Tate - About What You Know
Never mind yer Arctic Blondes or yer Milburn Monkeys, Sheffield's Little Man Tate are proper Lords in a post-post-industrial wasteland where the birds will let you cop a feel for a spam fritter and the alcopops pour like bile from the local BNP candidate.

CD Review: The Thermals - The Body The Blood The Machine
When they recorded their first album on a beat up old four-track in a local hotel room, Portland trio The Thermals and their label Sub Pop boldly stuck two fingers up to the industry and said "look we can have a hit record even with out all the expensive tweaks." Quite right too, More Parts Per Million went on to be an underground smash if there is such a thing and the tinny production only added to its joy.

CD Review: McQueen - Break The Silence
After already being one up on the fact I had seen these girls perform all these tracks live, whilst supporting The Almighty in Sheffield, I was interested to see how well it sounded on more produced level because their set was pretty bloody good.

Live Review: O Fracas + The Pigeon Detectives + Post War Years

Dead Disco, Death Disco, some might make a connection. Let's get things straight, Death Disco, and Alan McGee's pathetic spin off "The Queen is Dead," are nothing to do with this pint sized trio, full of pent up energy.

CD Review: Various Artists - Kerrang! The Album '09
The genius of the annual Kerrang! compilation is that, like the Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival, if you're an avid reader of said magazine, then chances are you're already familiar with every last band on this mammoth forty-two track compilation, even the acts being billed as 'ones to watch out for.' Spanning two CDs, it's conveniently split into mainstream-bothering punk and rock songs on the first CD, and metal and heavy rock on the second.
