CD Review: Ranaboy - Ranaboy EP
One man and his acoustic guitar scenarios will inevitably pull in the Damien Rice, Nick Drake, Adem comparisons but Andrew Roberts has enough of himself in these cleverly and sensitively penned ditties to pull it off.

CD Review: Ciaran Hafferty - Untitled
Three songs of pleasant strumming and little distinction from this Leeds based singer songwriter. All the songs show an ear for melody and are definitely in the Evan Dando bracket, track 2 "Love Burns" could easily be lifted from The Lemonheads' "Shame About Ray" era.

CD Review: The Thrills - Teenager
The Thrills' latest album "Teenager" is an album filled with their trademark sounds. Songs "The Midnight Choir" and "Nothing Changes Around Here" both rely on the tried and trusted formula of early hit "Santa Fe", but they are also the standout tracks.

CD Review: Matt Joe Gow - Bullet
There's no denying Matt Joe Gow's sincerity as he breathily sings "You were my one true love", but the snaps adorning his website of him strumming in a white vest akin to an aftershave advert, paint an uncomfortable picture.

CD Review: Rudolf Rocker - Rabbiting With Richard Dido
This is Rudolf Rocker's second album released on Leeds' very own House Of Mook label. John Peel listened upon the band favourably, as he did with many 'Mook' arists and you can hear why.

The four tracks that make up this EP form a diverse bunch of inoffensive ditties, all of which are listenable but none of which stand out and beg for further attention.

CD Review: All Its Worth - The Golden Spoon Theory EP
Research says that All Its Worth, an emerging four-piece from Pudsey are a 'punk rock band' with influences listed as Muse, Placebo, 3 Colours Red and Hole, yet their debut EP is more fittingly described as catchy, guitar pop ditties.

Live Review: Beautiful Feet + Moses + Mabel Blue
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that as much as anything else when it comes to gigs, the 'flow' of an evening's entertainment is as important as the quality of the music in catching and holding people's attention.

CD Review: Kid iD - Please Tell Your Friends
I like the cut of Mr. Pelleymounter's jib. Firstly, he's got a pretty fantastical last name. Secondly, his sleeve notes include the words, "If you like this music then feel free to copy, rip, burn and pass it on to as many people as you like." This is an important lesson for unsigned bands; just get your music out there.

Debut full-length from Leeds-based singer-songwriter Daniel Pearson is a predominantly alt-country record, which occasionally uses dual vocals and electric guitars to bring some variety to an album that isn't content to just churn out acoustic ditties.
