CD Review: Hot Club De Paris - Live at Dead Lake
A seductive opening near minute to 'Call Me Mr Demolition Ball' kicks the album off. It's anything but demolition-like, but after this, the pace changes and the idea of a wrecking ball becomes more apparent.

Live Review: Dartz! + Shut Your Eyes And You'll Burst Into Flames + Hot Club De Paris
Ah, the mighty Dance To The Radio night strikes again. Never a month goes past without another three bands more than worthy of headlining a show all by themselves being wheeled out and cast asunder to a crowd that in the most part aren't overly familiar with the talent on show but are more than willing to co-operate (or at least pensively listen) to what DTTR has to offer.

Live Review: The Longcut + Dartz! + Hot Club De Paris + The Whip + Hadouken! + Pull Tiger Tail + Yes Boss + Example
It's all just about to get a little bit Nasty. The great thing about dubbing yourself a 'festival of nu-wave' is that you pretty much have the leeway to put anything you want on the bill and slam the indiscriminate tag of 'nu-wave' atop and no-one will bat an eyelid.

CD Review: Plasticines - Barcelona
If Ladyhawke has taught us anything, it's that girl-synth-rock is fit. And Plastiscines have not tried to hide the fact that their break-through single is in fact a complete cover of Ladyhawke's 'Paris Is Burning', where the word "Paris" has been cunningly substituted for "Barcelona." But I've found myself not particularly caring about this complete rip-off at all; 'Barcelona' is a great pop song that ticks all the necessary boxes.

Live Review: Gloss
Since coming into the public eye, it's been hard for Gloss to get away from references to Cardigans. Not only does their music take in references to a later Cardigans, together with hints of Stereolab and Air to create a glitter-pop, almost 60's French cinematic, yet melodic affair, in vocalist Heidrun Anna they posses a ringer for Nina Persson.
