Bedwetter music?? Coldplay took Alan McGee's taunt and rammed it back down his throat. If this LP was Coldplay's attempt to shake off the indie-student rock tag then they have succeeded majestically.

Live Review: Blood Red Shoes + The Cast of Cheers
Dublin based four piece The Cast of Cheers open tonight's show with a mixed display. With urgent vocals and driving beats it's like sophomoric Foals and the majority of their set, although hooky and technical, feels very self-conscious.

CD Review: Sounds Like Violence - With Blood on My Hands
A light that burns twice as brightly burns twice as fast, and on the basis of Sound Like Violence's debut long-player the incendiary chutzpah of the Swedish quartet's first EP has been replaced by a rather limp and Killers-lite approach, that possesses all the spark of a twatted cooker.

CD Review: The Thermals - The Body The Blood The Machine
When they recorded their first album on a beat up old four-track in a local hotel room, Portland trio The Thermals and their label Sub Pop boldly stuck two fingers up to the industry and said "look we can have a hit record even with out all the expensive tweaks." Quite right too, More Parts Per Million went on to be an underground smash if there is such a thing and the tinny production only added to its joy.

Pendulum release a heavily shortened version of 'The Island' from their current 'Immersion' effort. This CD concludes with desire for a solid Yorkshire Boy. Well, if it weren't for the age-restriction built into that phrase, a front runner could be Michael Parkinson - because  much offered by Waking the Witch in the eleven new songs on Boys From The Abattoir has the type of showbiz gleam that earns the attention of Barnsley's elder statesman.

Trash Talk's blink-and-you'll-miss it 'Eyes & Nines' album, is a real love-it-or-hate-it affair. Serving up ten bursts of hateful hardcore that rarely surpass the one minute mark, 'Eyes & Nines' is hardcore in its rawest and most unadorned form, where all that matters is getting the energy and emotion across as quickly as possible, and then moving onto the next song.
