Interview: iLiKETRAiNS
In the busy world of the Leeds Music Scene, there's always a few bands who slip quietly into the main arena. iLiKETRAiNS are one of these bands, playing their sometimes gentle, sometimes fierce, but always beautiful take on post rock theatrics.

CD Review: iLiKETRAiNS - BEFORETHECURTAiNSCLOSE
If the Kaiser Chiefs are Leeds' masters of all that is cheery then iLiKETRAiNS are doom merchants placed on this earth to turn all those smiles upside down with dark and ever so sinister post rock epics.

CD Review: iLiKETRAiNS - athemercyofstephenson
This delightful coupling of tunes is down payment on a full EP that is timetabled for "soon". iLiKETRAiNS present their minimalist manifesto with a light acoustic guitar, a bowed cello and the gentlest of voices: TAKiNGTHEDAY is the opener.

Leeds' noisemongerers iLiKETRAiNS have always cut somewhat of a unique, solitary, some may say lonely figure amongst the trends of music and fashion.

Live Review: iLiKETRAiNS + O Fracas + Xi + Buen Chico + Unexploded Shells
Once again, it's that time of the month (no, not that one) but the one in which the whole of Leeds descends on the small but perfectly formed Hi-Fi club for the biggest (and longest) party in town.

Live Review: Wintermute + Slow Club + iLiKETRAiNS + Sky Larkin
Well it has been quite a while since I stood in a university campus with any intent, to pick up my wristband for Live at Leeds, and the young man who checked my ID eyes widened when he saw my date of birth.

Live Review: Duels + ˇForward, Russia! + iLiKETRAiNS + The Lodger + This Et Al + The Old House
Dance to the Radio was an event. Is it possible to review an event? Even straight description couldn't get deep enough into the complexities and impossibilities of making such a thing not just happen but happen so brilliantly.

Live Review: Pixies + Black Rebel Motorcycle Club + The Cooper Temple Clause + iLiKETRAiNS + The Blood Arm + Ali Whitton
Aah, Ali Whitton. Complete with band and an adoring banner held aloft in the crowd, the smiley cherub began to play a nigh-on perfect cluster of gentle, isolated islands of songs, doing admirable battle with The Bloody Nokia Phone Tent blasting out the sounds of drunkards roaring "Foooooooooo Figgggghhhhhhhteeeeeeearrrrghhhsssss" as lions may well do during the mating season.

Live Review: iLiKETRAiNS
I don't think I really 'got' I Like Trains up until now. I sort of categorised it in my mind as 'music to kill yourself to' and didn't really have much of an opinion past this (clearly wrong) assumption.

There is little doubt that the continuous hiatus of Godspeed You! Black Emperor has left many fans disgruntled - times spent freshly observing the dark orchestral beauty of records such as Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven or F#A# Infinity now seem like a long distant memory.

CD Review: This Et Al - The Figure Eight EP
We'd seen angry young men come and go before, and Leeds has been brim-full of earnest tunefulness for years, but from the early days This Et Al seemed like something a little different (remember the red shirts?) But here, three years on from the split 7" that launched Dance To The Radio, the main differences between themselves and contemporary Leodensians such as the band with whom they shared that single, ˇForward, Russia!, seem to revolve around the resolute failure of the national media to pick up on their efforts.

Well blimey! I walk into Joseph's Well at about 3:20pm after standing in the pissing rain for 20 minutes outside the place (yes, you said you were opening at three!) but at least it gave me chance to sober up slightly seeing as I had been in Carpe Diem for the three previous hours and was somewhat jolly already.
