Live Review: Freestylers
New vocalist Valerie M left the stage hailed as a heroine after this par-tay atmosphere gig. The amazing Amazonian singer, clad in striking skin-tight fluorescent green lycra provided the perfect garagey-soul accompaniment to The Freestylers trademark funky beats.

There's no denying Matt Joe Gow's sincerity as he breathily sings "You were my one true love", but the snaps adorning his website of him strumming in a white vest akin to an aftershave advert, paint an uncomfortable picture.

CD Review: The Old Romantic Killer Band - You Don't Know How To Love
If the Mississippi is the homeland of the blues then nobody told The Old Romantic Killer Band. The Leeds-based two piece grind out the kind of blues fuelled garage-punk that I can only imagine they must have conceived high on the powdered bones of Howlin' Wolf.

Not many people are here to watch Buzzkill; a real shame, as they give it their all. Unfortunately there is a problem with the saxophone, meaning we don't get to see Matt Perrot strut his stuff, and this leaves half a brass section by the name of Ben Whittington, who's trumpet can barely be heard except during his fiddly solos.
