Live Review: The Hives + The Blues Explosion + The D4
The searing heat inside the Refectory is only made more intolerable by the 5 minute fire alarm that kicks the night off.

News Article: The Wednesday Club release their third album on the Oddbox Records label
Leeds three-piece The Wednesday Club have released their third album. Titled 'Katapult' the album is the summation of their world-view: often filtering bleak subject matter through catchy, concise pop songs and informed by a belief that clever and stupid are equally valid methods of expression.

Live Review: The Blueskins + Loudmouth Soup
Never saw it myself, but full Brucey bonus points for the transformation of the Fav. Once noted for its triple Moldovan vodka's that were a liver defying £1.50, it made a great host for Saturday's inaugural Bad Sneakers.

Live Review: The Hives + Randy + Sahara Hotnights
It's a wet Monday night in Leeds and the Swedes are here to rock us, alright! As steam rises off the unfortunates who have queued in the misery outside, winter blues are quickly vanished by the arrival of punk rockers Sahara Hotnights.

Live Review: Jon Gomm + Gallo
This is the second time I have seen Gallo and I like them more every time. The female duo have a lot of talent between them and use guitar and saxophone to produce some lovely funky, jazzy, blusey medleys, topped off with an angelic, but strong voice that you have to notice.

Live Review: The Blueskins + The Bazaars + The Ebb
The Ebb are about to reach make or break time. Ball-busting, tribally triumphant drums soundtrack the band's rock and Borrell swagger onstage, the supremely confident singer causally sauntering across the pit before thrashing himself into a Columbia sized riff.

Live Review: Jon Gomm
I think we all know the story by now. A young sprightly reviewer who has never seen Jon Gomm before sits himself down and waits in anticipation.

CD Review: Kava Kava - Maui
Kava Kava are a real band doing clubs and festivals with total commitment to the music they love. It's acid funk and it's live on stage with pounding drums, big guitar and wah wah pedals.

Live Review: Jon Gomm
I couldn't miss the chance to see Jon Gomm in a remote pub in Otley, just far enough away from the rowdy bars in Leeds.

CD Review: Jon Gomm - Hypertension
I remember the first time I saw Jon play live - it must be going on three years ago in the Packhorse I think, quite a gangly fellow I thought, bit of a Goth maybe, would he start singing about powder paint and lipstick and have a big moan?

Live Review: Orka + Hatchiman + Skyfish
Once again the well is full. The crowd seems slightly different from usual, there's a definite glitzy glamour and expensive smell about them.

Live Review: Fleet Foxes
If you thought Fleet Foxes were living in a bucolic time warp the backdrop cast by an overhead projector at the start of the night would have done little to change your mind.

Live Review: Jarcrew + People in Planes + les Flames! + Pray For Hayden
This was the most treacherous, cold, icy night so far this winter. Fell over on the way to work. How lame is that?

CD Review: The Twilight Singers - Blackberry Belle
So you start off as a crazy youth with point blank attitude and more guts than sense. You play in stupid venues and say yes to everything and anything, including a name to die with: "Afghan Whigs".

Live Review: Shout Out Louds + Plants and Animals + Just Handshakes (We're British)
I got so wrecked at this gig I tried to steal the Shout Out Louds' maracas. I seem to be living in a sort of Groundhog Day at the moment where every weekend I go to the Brudenell and drink away my whole week's money while watching a legendary indie band and wishing Mrs Whatever was there instead of at a hen night or somewhere.

9 Years ago I had the pleasure of seeing Adrian Legg performing in Manchester, a gig which changed my view of the acoustic guitar.

Sometimes Annalee would venture into town to see live music in venues she'd never been to before... Time to reassess?
