CD Review: iLiKETRAiNS - BEFORETHECURTAiNSCLOSE
If the Kaiser Chiefs are Leeds' masters of all that is cheery then iLiKETRAiNS are doom merchants placed on this earth to turn all those smiles upside down with dark and ever so sinister post rock epics.

Live Review: The Cribs
You know when you see something so many times, but often miss the glaringly obvious each time? Well, it's not quite that with The Cribs because I always did enjoy watching them live but up on the Carling Stage it suddenly dawns on me how many great tunes they have...

CD Review: Freeland - Cope
Is DJ/Producer now just the male equivalent of Actress/Model/Whatever? Adam Freeland, currently a fairly small fish in the Chemical Bros/Calvin Harris pond hopes to move to warmer techno-tepid waters with his second solo LP 'Cope.' He's certainly roped in enough interesting guests to give himself an edge.

CD Review: Detwiije - Would You Rather Be Followed By Forty Ducks for the Rest of Your Life
God bless post rock bands and their inability to come up with short, precise titles. In the world of post rock, reviewers tend to miss the point, and label a band "the new" someone or other, or even worse than that, they simply grab a handful of random bands in the genre and apply their names to newer bands in order to give them a starting point as to what they're trying to do.

Live Review: Chris Helme + Tom Hingley + Ramon
A major coup for the promoters at Joseph's Well: the increasingly popular Naked Bar Guitar acoustic nights on a Sunday managed to get a former Seahorse and an ex-Carpet on the bill for probably the biggest NBG night yet.

To my shame, I can't remember the last time I've done this - turn up at a gig with almost no knowledge of any of the bands on the bill.

The kids are where it's at, man. Every teenage band I've seen at the Well have got all their mates from school down and all of them get the hallowed moshpits.

Live Review: Foo Fighters + The (International) Noise Conspiracy + Ash + Sum 41 + The Hives + Less Than Jake + Andrew WK + The D4 + The Libertines
After a f**king long walk home the night before and with a mild sense of too much Carling I opted to drive in on Sunday and be entertained with the knowledge that my car awaited at the end of it all.
