CD Review: The Von Bondies - Pawn Shoppe Heart
On hearing the excellent dumb-garage two-minute "C'mon C'mon" those already familiar with The Von Bondies would have been forgiven for thinking that the new album would be a major step towards a spikier output and away from the fuzzed up blues of "Lack of Communication".

CD Review: Innerpartysystem - Heart of Fire
Following their recent profile boost, thanks to the success of re-released single 'Don't Stop,' Innerpartysystem release this six-track EP 'Heart of Fire.' Title track 'Heart of Fire' lays a veneer of glitches and light-electro synths over dark, reverberating riffs, before launching into a thumping, drum-heavy chorus and hook-packed pop vocals.

CD Review: Wildbirds & Peacedrums - My Heart
In my time of reviewing I've come across some corking press releases. Often written by the bands themselves, usually in a painfully awkward third person, press releases seem to be a way of hoping against hope that the reviewer won't actually listen to the CD and will just copy/paste their somewhat ambitious statements into their evaluation.

CD Review: Simple Plan - Get Your Heart On!
For a fourth album, you would imagine that a band would have matured somewhat, but from the obvious title innuendo to the final note, it is clear that this is not the case with 'Get Your Heart On!' which only proves that despite a career spanning twelve years, Simple Plan are not a 'mature' band, and to pretend to be otherwise would be ridiculous.

CD Review: Mother Mother - Body Of Years
One of the less abrasive cuts from their 'O My Heart' album (certainly when compared to previous singles 'Hay Loft' and title track 'O My Heart') 'Body Of Years' is sticky-centred pop smothered in those intricate, interchangeable tri-vocals Mother Mother do so unnaturally well.

CD Review: Falconetti - Finisterre
This is good strong stuff and you don't have to fear its somberness, or shy away from having the whole lot at once: there's enough grace, sinew and primeval mass here to deserve a chance of being the main thing in your brain for a half an hour, even if the opening title track looms out of the silence to establish a portentous presence, and having done so, rather slips away in a slow heartbeat rhythm and female vocal.

"George Harrison isn't dead" Well that's according to the pensioner who took it upon himself to stand by the speakers throughout the whole of Dakota's performance, waving his walking stick and strutting his stuff, heckling at the poor lads, putting fear into the lives of those who dared breathe let alone stand more than a couple of metres from his well-guarded stage front.
