CD Review: Mariko - User Friendly I listened to this CD on the strength of a recent storming gig at The Rocket where I was impressed by the combination of the vocalist's swagger and the low slung guitars, two definitely admirable qualities. www.leedsmusicscene.net/article/337/ | 307 hits
CD Review: Senser - Resistance Now While any band that mixes heavy metal with rap will draw unfavourable comparisons to jock rock outfit Limp Bizkit and the like, 80s rapcore pioneers Senser are proof that this genre doesn't always have to be toe-curling - although Senser are still very much a guilty pleasure. www.leedsmusicscene.net/article/11053/ | 344 hits
CD Review: Various Artists - Showcase: West Yorkshire SXSW 2007 'This town is in disarray' claims the opening track from this sampler, but clearly not in a bad way. As an album it may suffer from being a hotchpotch of radically different offerings from local record labels, but I'd be surprised if any unwitting industry mogul - into whose hand this disc may have been thrust at the recent SXSW festival, and who actually took the time to give it a spin - failed to diagnose a clean bill of health for the current Leeds scene. www.leedsmusicscene.net/article/8248/ | 747 hits
CD Review: McQueen - Break The Silence After already being one up on the fact I had seen these girls perform all these tracks live, whilst supporting The Almighty in Sheffield, I was interested to see how well it sounded on more produced level because their set was pretty bloody good. www.leedsmusicscene.net/article/8020/ | 779 hits
