The Well used to known as Joseph's Well, and officially changed its name during 2009.Big sounds, a variety of music genres, friendly vibes and great drinks offers make The Well Bar and Live Music Venue the stuff of dreams for anyone wanting a cracking night out in Leeds.
Taken over by new management The Colgan Machine in April 2012, The Well has been totally refurbished. Its free-entry 350-capacity bar area is bright, airy and comfortable and a host of regular live music is provided on the small acoustic stage. A brand new PA system bolsters the acoustics of The Well's 375-capacity gig room, which offers small venue intimacy for the very best touring and local bands.
The Well has a forty-year history of live music. Appearances by Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers, Bloc Party, Gallows and British Sea Power have confirmed The Well's place as an essential stepping stone venue for your next new favourite band, but with true community spirit, the management are also keen to support rising local talent of all music genres and welcome enquiries from up and coming artists and performers.
The Well is open Monday through to Sunday, food is available until 7pm, and the bar and gig room are available to hire for parties, community events and CD launches etc.
