The Well used to known as Joseph's Well, and officially changed its name during 2009.The Well / Joseph's Well has been a live music venue for a number of years, picking up some of the slack left by The Duchess and evolving into a 7-nights a week outlet for live music from local unsigned to international tours.
The venue is open up to 2am on weekends with frequent late club shows and DJs on top of the regular gigs.
Recent appearances by The Killers, British Sea Power, Keane, Buck 65, Kaiser Chiefs, Wheatus, Bloc Party, The Kills, The Stills, The Dears, Isis, Lars Frederickesen and many many others have confirmed The Well's place as an essential stepping stone venue for your next new favourite bands. The separate bar is also a popular hangout of local musicians, including the impressive alumni of previous bar staff!
