Now into its 11th year, the Futuresound competition has become a regular feature on the Leeds music scene.

The annual competition offers six bands and musicians from around the West Yorkshire region the opportunity to appear live at both sites of the prestigious Reading and Leeds Festivals.

The last few days have seen music industry judges listen to submissions from the many hundreds of applicants all hopeful of taking one of the slots on offer on the Festival Republic Stage and BBC Introducing Stage.

That is now complete and organisers have announced today the glittering array of 44 established and up-and-coming bands who will appear in a series of heats at the Cockpit in Leeds in June and July.
