Radio One are coming to Leeds in June as part of their "Radio 1 on the Road" event. The 3-day event takes place between Friday, June 6th and Sunday, June 8th and will be based around a series of sessions at LMUSU.

Radio 1 on the Road is a new event which takes a selection of Radio One's off-air events and on-air programmes around the UK, with the aim of giving young people the chance to take part in activities based around the music industry.

The off-air activity during the event will be enhanced by a selection of on-air Radio One programmes (broadcast live from Leeds) together with an online presence on the Radio One website.

Chris Moyles (Friday drivetime) will focus upon four day Hombre, whilst the Saturday night will see a Radio One Rock Show gig - rumoured to be at Joseph's Well - Mary Anne Hobbs will be there to host the night and spin some tunes. Confirmed headliners are Colour of Fire.

Organisers are looking for three more bands, one of which will record an exclusive track at the legendary Maida Vale studios for broadcast on the Rock show. To be in with a chance, Leeds bands are required to submit a demo to the One Music team by May 16th - click here for more information.
