Organisers of the annual Leeds music festival have today revealed the initial headlining acts for Leeds 2013.

Local band Alt-J, fresh from their recent Mercury Award successes, have been confirmed as headliners for the NME/Radio 1 Stage.

Also announced today were Deftones (Main Stage) and Sub Focus (Dance Stage). The Dance Stage will be running every day in 2013, instead of just one day in previous years.

In addition it was revealed that Leeds 2013 will be host to a brand new stage - the BBC Radio 1Xtra Stage - which will be headlined by Boy Better Know.

Tickets for Leeds 2013 will go on sale tomorrow at 9am via the official ticket agencies Ticketmaster and See Tickets.
