This is an archive of the band profile for Shake Your Halo Down.

Based in Wakefield, England songwriter Chris Charlton coined Shake Your Halo Down after one his favourite bands songs, Washington DC's Shudder To Think, and uploaded a collection of unreleased songs he'd written and recorded in his formative years, via 2 EPs 'Ellis Laithe Fold' and 'Trust me' on bandcamp in 2013.

SYHD then joined the PhilophobiaMusic roster, home of The Spills and Mi Mye releasing a 4 track EP 'Honesty' in Jan 2014 featuring vocals from Vanya Slater, Marc Maitland (Blocko, The NoMarks) on drums and the late great Ian Smart (Milloy) on bass.

July 2014 saw a second EP 'Signals' arrive on Philophobia, an experimental set of songs in a more electronic vein. Kerry Ramsay (Protectors, Big Love) contributed vocals as well as Stewart Ramsay, Olivia Cherry and a track 'Stop talking about the weather' co-written with Chris Price of The Unthanks.

2016 sees Charlton writing and recording a debut full length Shake Your Halo Down album, scheduled for release via a song every month on Philophobia Music..
