This is an archive of the band profile for Johnny's In The Basement.

Johnny's In The Basement formed in September 03 in a sweaty practise room somewhere around Leeds University. Singer Chris MacArthur was already a face around the plethora of acoustic nights in Leeds and brought together livewire bass player Lawrence Diamond, drummer extraordinaire Alex Mackenzie and, the final piece in the jigsaw Tom Burke, more simply known as Charge.

After wetting their feet with gigs at friend's parties and university bars the boys have dived into gigging proper around Leeds since the start of 2004. Packed gigs at Dr Wu's, the Royal Park Cellars, Mojo's and most recently the Wardrobe, have seen them pick up many friends along the way, and a reputation for being an extremely tight driven rock band.

The sounds of Led Zeppelin, The Band, Cream, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Dave Mathews and Bob Dylan pervaded their work, and a demo was available. But to really fall in love with this band you had to see them live..
