The line up for the Carling Weekend Leeds Festival 2005 was announced this evening. The festival takes place at Bramham Park, nr Leeds between 26th and 28th August and is a dual venue event with bands and line ups coordinated with a similar site in Reading.

Headlining the main stage in 2005 are, as rumoured earlier this year, Iron Maiden, Pixies and Foo Fighters. Support for the main stage comes from The Killers, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Coral, Elbow, Kings Of Leon, Razorlight, The Charlatans, Jimmy Eat World, Marilyn Manson, Incubus, Iggy and The Stooges and NOFX.

The NME Radio One Stage headliners have been named as Kasabian, The Tears and Bloc Party with support from BRMC, Babyshambles, Arcade Fire and The Futureheads.

More bands to be announced for all stages.

With a capacity of around 52,000 once again, tickets for this year's Leeds Festival are priced at £125 for the weekend (price includes camping). Day tickets for the Friday, Saturday, Sunday event (without camping) are £60, whilst early entry tickets that allow campers to arrive and set up from Wednesday will cost an extra £10.
