This year's Party In The Park - to take place at Temple Newsam over three hours on the afternoon of Sunday, 17th July - will be screened live on national TV. The satellite channel LIVINGtv (sky channel 114) will show the festivities live with Brian Dowling and actress Nikki Sanderson providing the commentary.

The annual Party In The Park is organised by Leeds City Council, and artists playing this year include Melanie C, Rooster, Tyler James, Tony Christie, Freefaller and Lemar. Free tickets for the event, limited to just four per person, are still available from Leeds Central Library or from sponsors 96.3 Radio Aire.

Party In The Park 2005 is preceded on the Saturday by Opera In The Park with headliners Katherine Jenkins and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

Of the events, John Procter (Leeds City Council) said, "Opera In The Park and Party In The Park are two of the biggest events in the city with thousands of people taking part in superb entertainment for free. We are absolutely delighted with the line-ups for this year".
