The NME have today announced the bands that will be playing the NME New Music Tour 2006 in May with Leeds' ¡Forward, Russia! joining Boy Kill Boy, The Automatic and Sheffield's The Long Blondes for the 14-date tour.

The Leeds four-piece, who have been working on a new single and their debut album, are currently en-route to the USA where they have half a dozen gigs scheduled as part of the SXSW 2006 music conference.

¡Forward, Russia! have also been announced to appear as part of this year's Camden Crawl in April.

The NME New Music Tour 2006 kicks off in Bristol on May 6th and the bands will play at Manchester's Empire venue on 12th May (sadly, there's no Leeds date this time around).
