Chichino have signed a recording contract with London based, The Junk Label. The deal will see Chichino release a number of singles with the view to releasing an album. Since their initial meeting in April at Leeds’ Hard Rock Café, both band and label have been sharing ideas and discussing the forthcoming publicity campaign to promote the first single, due for release in late summer. A number of suitable tracks are currently being mixed at Hatch Farm Studios in Surrey.

Bob Gwilliam, the man responsible for signing Chichino, said of the deal: “We’re both pleased and excited to add Chichino to our roster. We’re looking forward to developing this exciting band that we believe have massive commercial potential.”

To celebrate the deal, Chichino are holding a Summer Soul Party at The Hifi Club, Leeds on Tuesday 15 August. Admission is free. The celebrations will include live sets from Chichino, Leeds soul diva Lara Rose and a funk/soul DJ set by DJ Big Mac (Baby Jupiter, Revolution, Soul Circus).
